Party Assistant & Party Coordinator

Party Assistant

Tasks and Duties

  • Assist on event/party planning process and party set up, includes communication with clients, completing party checklist, decorations, party tour, weekly party inventory check and organizing party supplies;

  • Greet and engage with visitors (children and adults) to enhance their experience

  • Facilitate birthday parties and special events;

  • Be familiar with party pricing and other business information; Answer and direct incoming calls and emails related to party bookings

  • Maintain a clean facility throughout the day plus daily cleaning tasks at the end of shift as well as beginning of the shift

  • Enforce rules to ensure safety of all visitors at the facility; Take on new tasks and responsibilities as they arise

  • Receive & open packages, transport goods between floors with staircase, and organize storage which may require lifting up to 30 lbs.

  • The candidate will have on-job training and will be evaluated periodically. High potential for next level promotion.

Requirements & Preferences​

  • 1+ year of customer service experience or sale experience is required

  • Must be professional, intelligent, considerate, highly-organized and detail-oriented, and definitely a team player who will pitch in wherever necessary to get the job done; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High school diploma is required; Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred 

  • Well-organized and being proactive to complete daily tasks

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is preferred

  • Queens resident is preferred

  • Must be legal to work in the Unites States. Reference checks and background checks will be performed prior to employment

Schedule

  • Half day on Thursday or Friday; Must be able to work on parties on Saturday or Sunday

  • Training period - min. 80 hrs, paid

  • 10-20hrs a week

Party Coordinator

Tasks and Duties

  • Respond to client party inquiry; Plan and schedule meetings or tours with clients

  • Organize and complete party documents; Communicate with clients to ensure all of Dream City’s policies are upheld and maintained during their events

  • Manage and communicate with party staff on a weekly basis regarding upcoming parties

  • Host Birthday events and oversee the setup and clean up process; Perform After-party follow up 

  • Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 30 lbs up and down the stairs

  • Arrange furniture, decor, rentals, and signage as needed

  • Working with the Sales staff and Operations team to create a seamless event experience; Aim to sell 16 party slots per month

  • Maintain inventory of ALL Event Items and ensure we have all items necessary for our parties

Requirements & Preferences

  • 2+ years of customer service and/or project management experience is required

  • 1+ years of event planning experience is required

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Ability to lead a team, work independently and collaboratively

  • A go-getter with strong initiative

  • Must work with a sense of urgency; Must be solutions-oriented

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is preferred

  • Queens resident is preferred

  • Half day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Full day on Saturday and Sunday

  • Training period - min. 80 hrs, paid
